Consumers are turning to the web for a variety of reasons every day. Millions of people going to the web to shop, do research, read news, view entertainment and more.

Every day companies look for ways to increase traffic to their website and market their products and services online. At Designtek Solutions we continuously look for ways to help our clients pass up their competition.

While new trends are emerging to draw in more clients we took some time to research current trends and find out how they may affect your business and online presence and whether or not they may benefit you.

The most constant and common web presence is having a web site. Without a web site you have no web presence other than your online yellow pages. For small companies building a 1-3 page web site may increase your identity and image but unless you implement the tools necessary so your visitors to find you then your web site traffic may end up stagnant.

The most popular way of getting your web site known is to use Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO increases the volume of traffic to a web site from search engines by using a “natural” or "organic" search result, meaning that the engine will not accept any amount of money to influence the rankings of any individual sites.

SEO targets different types of searches such as image search, local search, and industry-specific searches. This gives a website web presence.

Banner Ads are very popular advertisement. Banner ads are used as an embedded advertisement on a web page. Their intent is to attract traffic to a website by linking the visitor to a landing page of the advertiser. Landing pages are used to promote that special service or offer on the banner. Sometimes Micro-sites (1-3 web pages) are also used for ongoing services and offerings. By using Banner Ads, Landing pages and Micro-sites companies can manage their ROI by separating their marketing campaigns from their main website.

AdWords and AdSense – Both ran by Google offers pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, and site-targeted advertising for both text and banner ads. Google's text advertisements are short, consisting of one title line and two content text lines. Advertisers specify the words that should trigger their ads and the maximum amount they are willing to pay per click.

Email Marketing is an affordable and easy way to connect with new prospects and existing clients. It can be used as an easy way to advertise your products and services as well as keep in contact and build relationships.

Though Email marketing is really about the quantity of emails sent, many companies take Email marketing to another level by making interactive forms, using links to video streams and promoting products and services by sending ads by MMS to mobile devices. With email marketing the possibilities are endless.
